Meet the Artist
Hi! I’m Lexi Peters and aviation is more than a hobby for me; it’s a way of life. Originally from Oklahoma, I was raised on a grass airfield where my passion for flying began at the early age of 8. Now residing on a grass airfield in Ohio, I blend my love for aviation with my talent for painting.
Having graduated from Ohio University with a fine art degree, I set off into the world and pursued architecture. After a few years, I looked skyward and began a career in aviation, working first as ground grew, then becoming a flight instructor, and finally working my way up to flying a corporate jet.
All the while, I continued to create art in my spare time and in 2019 I founded Skydog Studio. Mainly working on watercolor landscapes of America’s National Parks, I sold prints of my work for years as a side business. Then in 2025 I temporarily hung up my corporate wings and picked up the paintbrush full time.
Although I spent years working with watercolor as my preferred medium, I found my true voice in oils. I now paint primarily aviation themed works inspired by the airplanes I’ve had the privilege to fly. My focus now is to show the immense beauty there is in flying and to connect aviators around the world with my paintings. I still fly out of my backyard airfield and continue to teach others to fly and achieve their dreams.
